TEGG Service announces that its franchise Carpenter Electric, Inc. is offering monthly ARC Flash Safety & Predictive Maintenance training to businesses and employees in the West Palm Beach area. TEGG Service is a part of ABM Franchising Group, LLC, a portfolio of franchise networks that deliver comprehensive mechanical and electrical service and preventive maintenance solutions to commercial, industrial and residential buildings. ABM Franchising Group is an operating unit of ABM (NYSE:ABM).
Carpenter Electric has been a franchise within the TEGG Service Network since 2012. And for over 32 years, Carpenter Electric has been serving the West Palm Beach area. They are committed to the safety of the employees in their community and specialize in electrical preventive maintenance services for commercial and industrial facilities. Their service portfolio includes lighting, energy management, surge protection, automation & control systems, and much more. In addition, Carpenter Electric is also focused on educating facilities and personnel in the West Palm Beach area about the dangers of arc flash and other electrical hazards. "Educating clients, employees and others in our communities on the importance of safety is the core of our business," said Brian Myers, Senior Vice President of TEGG. "We are proud Carpenter Electric is bringing this crucial training to the West Palm Beach community." According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), five to ten arc flash explosions occur daily within equipment across the United States. An arc flash can produce heat energy reaching over 30,000 degrees Fahrenheit, sound up to 160 decibels, and pressure waves strong enough to throw a worker across a room. Injuries from these explosions can range from first to third degree burns and even result in death. Carpenter Electric recognized the danger these hazards posed to workers in their community and committed to increasing awareness through education. Marty Perrone, the Director of Electrical Safety and Code Compliance at Carpenter Electric, began performing arc flash awareness trainings in June 2013 and has reached local fire fighters, fire inspectors, electricians, maintenance workers, hospitals, manufacturing facilities, and water treatment plants with his important message. "When I enter a facility for the first time, I often notice that they do not have the proper arc flash labels installed on their equipment," said Perrone. "Very simply, without these labels and the training that goes along with them, workers are at risk. In today’s workplace, safety is everyone’s job. That is the message I am trying to convey to the West Palm Beach community." Carpenter Electric offers ARC Flash Safety & Predictive Maintenance training at their location in Mangonia Park, FL the second Wednesday of each month from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There is no cost to attend the training.
