TEGG franchise Humphrey & Associates, Inc., hosted a pair of Empower Training Services electrical safety seminars in May.
Dave Schlapkohl, General Manager of Humphrey & Associates, Inc., in Fort Worth, Texas, makes sure to offer at least three Empower Training Services seminars to his clients per year.
“These are a very valuable resource for our company and clients,” Schlapkohl said.
Empower Training Services, which is part of ABM Franchising Group, offers comprehensive NFPA 70E on-site safety training and courses, including “Electrical Safety in the Workplace,” “Safety-Related Maintenance,” and “Electrical Safety in the Workplace.” Empower Training Services has taught more than 10,000 participants about the dangers of arc flash and other electrical safety hazards.
Most recently, Humphrey & Associates, Inc., hosted a pair of NFPA 70E seminars in May. The first seminar, which was attended by 15 people, was on May 15 in Carrollton, Texas, and the second seminar, which had 27 attendees, was on May 16 in Ft. Worth, Texas.
Joe DeMonte, Director of Technical Training and Support at ABM Franchising Group, led the seminars, which taught participants about electrical safety, based on the NFPA 70E Standards. Training includes information on Arc Flash, PPE and NFPA Methods of Selecting PPE, Flash Protection Boundaries, and the limits of approach.
Humphrey & Associates, Inc., a TEGG contractor since 1997, not only hosts at least three seminars per year, but also helps arrange additional Empower Training Services seminars for clients as requested.
Schlapkohl said Empower Training Services’ seminars are always well attended and receive overwhelmingly positive feedback from its attendees.
“These are definitely eye-opening seminars not only for our clients, but also for us as contractors,” Schlapkohl said. “We’re able to provide Arc Flash Risk assessment services, and being able to see these seminars really helps to refresh my knowledge so I can always be prepared to help my clients. It also lets our clients know what kind of risks they could face.”
Schlapkohl said he strongly encourages Linc Service and TEGG contractors, and their clients, to either attend or host their own Empower Training Services seminars.
“I learn something new every time we host a seminar,” Schlapkohl said. “It’s something everyone should really jump on to learn about electrical risks.”
