Providing Electrical Safety Training Virtually

Nearly two dozen participants attended the first ever virtual Empower Training Services' Electrical Safety Training held August 20-21. The virtual training was hosted by TEGG contractor, Doyle Electric.

Empower-Logo-R.pngABM Franchising Group’s Empower Training Services program offers comprehensive NFPA 70E on-site and virtual safety training, including “Electrical Safety in the Workplace.”

The “Electrical Safety in the Workplace” seminar addresses electrical safety in the workplace, including Arc Flash, Arc Flash protection boundary and limits of approach, personal protection equipment (PPE), as well as NFPA-recommended methods of selecting PPE.

Majority of participants said the training exceeded expectations. Participant feedback included:
  • "Really informative! I wish that we had more of our staff sitting in on the virtual training."
  • "As a Safety Analyst, I am always looking for ways to improve our work practices. This has helped me in having more than my words alone. One of our electricians, who participated in the training, thanked me after the class for making him use hot gloves and an arc flash suit to protect him. Thank you for doing this and hope you keep spreading the message."
  • "I had no idea what Arc Flash was before the class. Now I will be more mindful walking through a boiler room. The course was well laid out and interesting."
